Here is the visualisation of the Sketchnote Army Traveling Book's journey. If you don't know this book and its extraordinary journey, I refer you to my post which will also refer you to the posts of the book's father, Mauro Toselli. In a glimpse: the book traveled more than 90.000 km across 4 different continents over 7 years. More than 90 sketchnoters held it in their hands, some even several times, and most have left a mark and a signature on it.

About the visualisation
The timeline is veryyy long: you have to scroll horizontally to navigate it.
Moving your mouse over dots and texts will highlight certain information or change the appearance of the visualisation.
With a click on dots and texts, you will display more details about:
the sketchnoters with their entry in the book (when available) and their Twitter or Instagram accounts.
the stops of the book's journey.
The horizontal x-axis is the timeline graduated in weeks (one tick = one week). It starts in September 2016 when the book leaves Mauro Toselli, and ends in October 2023 when the book returns to Mauro.
The dates are those mentioned by the sketchnoter in her entry in the book, when available. When no date is mentioned, it is that of the sketchnoter's post on social media, Twitter and/or Instagram. And when no date is identifiable, the date of the stop is the result of an extrapolation between the two neighboring ones.
The vertical y-axis contains all the names of the 107 sketchnoters who held the book in their hands, starting at the bottom with Mauro Toselli. If the book is passed through the hands of the same sketchnoter again, her name is included again in the list.
A vertical bar on the timeline represents a stop of the book at a sketchnoter and includes the following information:
The date at the bottom of the bar.
The height of the bar represents the distance traveled in kilometers to arrive at this sketchnoter.
The city and country at the top of the bar with a different color depending on the continent.
The sketchnoter's name is the red dot on the vertical bar.
The bluish colored plot shows the kilometers accumulated along the book's journey (from 0km to 90385km). Hover your mouse over the red dots (sketchnoters) to see only it.
The reddish colored plot shows the evolution of the number of sketchnoters who held the book in their hands (from 0 to 107). Hover your mouse over the red dots (sketchnoters) to see only it.
